Dr. Jay E. Noffsinger

Dr. Noffsinger is a pediatric sports medicine physician at the Center for Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine. Board-certified in both pediatrics and primary care sports medicine, he has more than 35 years experience as a physician. Dr. Noffsinger is a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He completed his internship at the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla., and his residency at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Oakland, Calif., through a pediatrics affiliation with University of California at San Francisco.

In addition to serving at the Center for Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine, Dr. Noffsinger has been a professor of pediatrics at Saint Louis University School of Medicine since 1997. He is director of the university's Pediatric Sports Medicine program and associate program director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship offered through the Center for Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine. He also serves as team physician and clinical instructor in athletic training at McKendree University in Lebanon and has been at O'Fallon High School since 1986.

 

Dr. Janiece Stewart

Dr. Stewart is a sports medicine physician at the Center for Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine and sports medicine, and board eligible in pediatrics.

Dr. Stewart is a 2001 graduate of Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where she completed her residency in internal medicine and pediatrics. She completed the San Jose-O’Connor Hospital Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship in San Jose, Calif., in 2006. She received her undergraduate degree in microbiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Dr. Stewart has served as event or team physician for more than a dozen athletic competitions and teams. Competitive events have ranged from the National Junior Olympic Judo Championship in San Jose, Calif., and the Big Kahuna Triathlon in Santa Cruz, Calif., to surfing competitions, snow skiing events and marathons. While in California, she also served as team physician for the San Jose Skyrockets in the American Basketball Association and Major League Soccer’s San Jose Earthquakes. Currently, Dr. Stewart serves as team physician for Collinsville High School and Saint Louis University.

In addition to her sports medicine practice, Dr. Stewart has served as a nutrition and weight loss consultant for Simone’s Gourmet Basket. A frequent speaker and author on athletic training and sports injuries, Dr. Stewart is a member of the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Medical Association.

Dr. Stewart is a Belleville native and resident.

 

Dr. Tyler Wadsworth

Dr. Wadsworth practices sports and musculoskeletal medicine at the Center for Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He also directs the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship for Saint Louis University sponsored by St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

Dr. Wadsworth's clinical activities include treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal problems, including sports- and work-related injuries to the spine, knee, shoulder and other extremities.. His pain treatment plans sometimes include acupuncture, which he has performed for more than 15 years. He also provides fitness assessments and exercise prescriptions to patients interested in improving their health through exercise. Individualized exercise programs are a component of his comprehensive plans for treating back pain, diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol, arthritis and other exercise-responsive medical conditions.

Dr. Wadsworth serves as team physician for University City High School and Saint Louis University. He is medical director and principal investigator for Sundance Clinical Research, LLC, where he performs clinical trials of promising medications to treat arthritis, tendon injuries and other medical conditions. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Eastern Missouri Chapter and Heartland Region of the Arthritis Foundation.

Dr. Wadsworth is certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties in family practice and sports medicine. He completed a post-graduate fellowship in sports medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and a charter member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. He has written chapters in sports medicine textbooks and articles for scientific publications, as well as lectured at numerous local, national and international sports medicine conferences. He is medical director of the Lewis and Clark Marathon and Half-Marathon in St. Charles, Mo.
